Shah Rukh Khan starts filming for 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi'

May 18, 2008 (Celeb News) - Filming for Aditya Chopra's third directorial venture - Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi - got off to a smooth start on Friday, May 16, with the lead pair, Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma, present on set.

"Starting the first day of shooting is what still gives me goose bumps like nothing else, " said Shah Rukh. "And to make films with Yash Raj, that too when Adi is directing, is an experience that is more than 100% exciting. Yash Raj Films is, and will always be, home for me and who doesn't love coming home? Yashji and Adi have always given me roles that have gotten me love and appreciation from fans all over the world. And this time Adi has again written a character for me to play that I think will become as beloved as Raj of DDLJ was. I am going to be trying as usual to hit it out of the park with Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi."

Yash Chopra was also present on the set on the first day of shoot to bless his son and the unit.

Anushka Sharma, a 21-year-old Bangalore based model was picked to play lead opposite Shah Rukh Khan on May 8, following a massive talent hunt for a young demure girl with quintessential Punjabi features.

The film focuses on the love between a 40-year-old man and a 16-year-old girl, and is believed to have an interesting twist in the climax.

The film, to be shot in Greece, Australia, and Dubai, will be released in theatres on December 12, 2008.
