Amitabh Bachchan enjoys 'Bhoothnath' with audience - Bachchan Bhoothnath a hit with Bankus

The much talked about Bhoothnath from BR Films comes across as a one-time watch which might appeal more to the kids than to the matured audience. It was touted as a kids film and guess what, that is what it turns out to be!

The movie has Big B playing a ghost Nath (Amitabh Bachchan) who makes it impossible for anyone to stay in his home in Goa since his death. Things are so bad that even taxi drivers refuse to chauffer anyone as soon as they hear that Nath Villa is the destination. But that’s till Nath comes across Banku (Aman Siddiqui) – the new kid who has moved in with his parents Anjali (Juhi Chawala) and Aditya (SRK) into Nath Villa.

Though the rest of the city trembles at the thought of the family staying there, Banku the little one befriends the ghost as he takes him to be his angel. This friendship leads to a deep confusion as none except Banku can see the ‘Angel’.

The movie shows a journey of this little kid and his friend. Vivek Sharma`s direction proves to be amateurish as it is nothing else but a melodrama-fest we have come to associate with BR Films of late. So in the end it goes from a movie only for kids to a movie that even kids might not like that much.

Now coming to the good parts. One- Aman Siddiqui aka Banku will win your heart with his natural antics. Two- Amitabh Bachchan, but of course; the only hitch being the fact that he might have done without a Bhoothnath in his kitty. Three- Juhi Chawla, who steals the show with her laboured performance. SRK does guest appearance of sorts. Rest of the cast including Satish Shah and Rajpal Yadav stand wasted.

In sum, Bhoothnath is more than a bit of a drag, despite the lead players trying hard to make it tick.

Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan paid a surprise visit to a theatre here where his newly released film, "Bhoothnath", was being screened.

Big B, who was in the city for last three days in connection with the shooting of a film, came to Cinemax theatre in the crowded college road locality on Thursday night to enjoy the movie with the audience.

The excited audience cheered Big B while a large number of spectators had also gathered outside the theatre to steal the glimpse of the superstar.
